Spring brings many good things. I love to see the flowers, bushes, and trees coming back from winter dormancy. Spring also brings windy days. This year the winds have been delightful at times and at other times destructive.
Chimes tinkle on the porch
Leaves rustle in the trees
Flowers wave showy heads
Set swaying by the breeze
A gentle Spring morning
But how long will it last
For in the afternoon
Strong winds are forecast
A trellis is blown down
Dust mars my mountain view
Gusts whip the garden flag
Knocking its stand askew
What started so kindly
Became a wicked blast
Power often does that
When too much is amassed
